Launch stage

"I'm all in!"

Teams in the Launch phase have often formed a spinout, won many grants and awards, and have received significant external input into the project. Teams are competitive for selective financing programs such as the BioInnovation Institute BaseLaunch and the UZH Life Science Fund. These teams often receive intense,  semi-operational support from the TMA, including:

  • Planning to address remaining risks and gaps
  • Developing rigorous materials needed for investment (far beyond what is required for pitch competitions)
  • Directly facilitating and participating in investor/partnering meetings
  • Giving strategic advice on founder/team dyamics and structure, corporate strategy, financing strategy and terms
  • Helping elevate soft skills
  • Facilitating of hiring key roles

The goal of this stage is for the spinout to receive significant external financing (.e.g Series A) or partnerhip (e.g. industry R&D deal).
